A while back, I contributed a few stills to the mini doc above. I met one of the brothers, Billy, when I was renting some space on Wood street in 2004. Who knew that art could be so consistently funny?
I sort of enjoy lifting.
Training: Lifted at the Gym for about 35 minutes. No Cool down on the bike.
I sent along my research about John Berryman to a few friends who are fans. They let me know in no uncertain terms that I was about a year behind in my “fan-boy, hold steady, geeked-out fact-checking”.
To which I respond with the above: a word cloud derived from the lyrics of every Hold Steady song available here. You know…in case you were wondering about the relative frequency of the use of words like hoodrat, sequestered or ‘around’ in their lyrics.
I used the OS X automator to grab all the lyrics and drop them into a text file. Did a search and replace on the ads and line breaks. Then dropped what was left into Wordle. Didn’t take very long to do.
Training:
Monday: I lifted for the first time in maybe 10 years? Following the Wenzell 22 week plan. Easing into it.
Also did like 20 minutes on the spin bike when I was done as a cool down.
Today: 50 minutes on the trainer. Probably high zone 3, low zone 4. My HR monitor is on the fritz.
Eating:
Today:
Breakfast: Kiwi. OJ. Coffee. granola bar.
Lunch: PB Sanwich. Apple. Extra dark pretzels. Lemonade.
Snack: Popcorn. 2 hand fulls of M&Ms. half an apple.
Post workout snack: PB Ice cream.
Dinner: Home made pizza. Vitamin water.
Maybe the most depressing line I’ve read since reading DFW’s Kenyon College Commencement.
Training: I think I was on the trainer for 40 minutes monday night. 45 minutes friday night.
Today I was out tooling around from Delaware to someplace near Thornbury. Maybe 1.5 hours on the road.
Still eating pretty much whatever I want.
I start lifting this week.
That is all.
Training:
Saturday: 1.5 hours. Nothing fancy. A couple climbs.
Sunday: Closer to 3 hours. Went up Saw Mill Road, then out Goshen Road to 352.
Eating: not paying attention.
Training: 45 minutes on the trainer. sweating like a pig.
Eating:
Breakfast: apple, pretzel, coffee
Lunch: Really bad SW chicken salad from a chain restaurant I am not going to mention by name. Lemonade.
Snack: tastycake chocolate covered pretzel rod.
Dinner: turkey. rice. whatever green veg is up there.
Desert: tastykake brownie.
